Isolation or Sanctuary Home
Isolation or Sanctuary Home
Isolation rips
waves rush and storm
my sanctuary home
laden with thorns
rife with bone
amid the foam
and
brown-headed cowbirds
claw to leave their own
alone
in solidarity.
Nothing
in all God’s creation
shines hope as humans do
indomitable
kindness
finds the good
of quiet time
together
in isolation.
