Nanowrimo July Word Count

What’s on your schedule for July?

Each and every time July approaches the air runs a little thinner and I need to decide whether to plunge into a word count challenge with the infamous NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Or not.

This year I choose maybe.

Maybe I will continue writing my novel—my series of stories—with noble themes of forgiveness, anti-bullying, using digital technology to solve crimes, and finding identity in Christ. Or not.

Or maybe I should organize my photos and files and create proper tags and clean up my own digital space.

I sigh. Fiction writing is difficult.

The pages of my newest project rustle in the breeze from my ceiling fan. It’s humid tonight. Pages roll and drift to the floor.

I confess I have difficulty finishing projects. I start so many that some days I am overwhelmed at the mere thought of writing in my bullet journal. I wonder if my days of the week might count in the total word count for the month?

No. I need to persevere. That’s my word for the year. I need to rest in the God’s direction and not be like those unfettered, unsecured papers and stand firm. Finishing the daunting task of self-publishing a color coded series of journals is the primary task this month.

Thanks to my marvelous launch team on FaceBook. I am honored you took the time and interest in my work. Together we will stand and find the courage to work on many projects together. I can’t wait to support your next venture.

While we wait, I suppose adding a few more words to my fiction story might be good when I need a break form the formatting, marketing, and keyword searching of the self-publishing journey.

But I won’t forget to pray for you.

I’m looking forward to your inspirational stories.

Write On!
