A Powerful poignant message!
The novel, Dust, investigates the interwoven generations of believable and complex characters who carry their celebrations, choices, and regrets side by side. As the author floats seamlessly between the relationships and longings of Alison and Westley and those they meet. These shared experiences expose our shared humanity and prompt self-evaluation.
I dare to wonder what my life would be like if those around me had chosen differently.
What if I hadn’t suffered the childhood trauma? What if I hadn’t been in the wrong place at the wrong time? Or made assumptions that became the fabric of my story?
Dust reminds readers that while we affect each other’s lives. We are only here for a time appointed by God. And what we do with the choices before us, shapes our future and the future of our children and those we love—or perhaps even a person we meet unaware and might never connect with or meet again.
One of my favorite quotes in Dust:
“I headed into the rest of my life.”
Speaks to me as a reader and as a woman praying she made mostly right choices, no matter what others choose. And that has the potential to impact my life for good or for regrets.
I believe we make better choices if we care for everyone we meet and love deeply because we all will meet an end to this life, and a beginning to eternity. What a powerful message!
You must read this novel. It will change your thinking.
