During the live streaming worship services the pastors at Grace Church have challenged us to weather the storms of our lives and to expect certain truths. Although the coronavirus pandemic struck the world this year, we should not have been surprised. These are some of the truths from the Bible.
Expect Storms. God hasn’t said we would never go through trials in this life. On the contrary, trials are inevitable and perhaps useful to help us.
Expect the Savior, God. Know that Jesus sees us and that we need to look to Him in the storms of our lives.
Expect Waiting. Waiting builds patience and helps us to learn to trust. He’s got us. Even in times of trouble.
Expect Safe Arrival after the Storm. There is always a clearing after the storm and trials of life. The rainbow follows the rain. Trust the Savior “more than you trust the storm.”
The final question on Sunday was tough to process. The lockdowns swung into full force for many states. People lost jobs and livelihoods. How could this storm end? When will it end?
I asked Jesus to help me trust Him especially when I can’t see through the clouds and the uncertainty of tomorrow. But hasn’t that always been true? We can’t tell what tomorrow or the future will bring. Ever.
So, I must trust Him during this time. I must.
Will you?
