Bible Study Moments: Comforted
Snippets From the Word
Romans 8:28-30
Comforted: No Frustration
I find myself frustrated far too often. My expectations bend and break if I'm not careful. How does one not get frustrated when the world seems all crazy and mixed up?
I pray and find comfort in praying for others. And I love when others help me in my discouragement and offer to pray for me. Granted, I misplace my hope in God when I look on heart breaking circumstances. Yet Romans 8, especially verse 18-30, dives right into the heart of who God is in our weaknesses.
God's Spirit even groans for us in heaven and intercedes before the throne of God. How marvelous!
Most importantly, remembering that our current culture and the present day events can't compare with the joy and glory to be revealed when Jesus Christ returns.
Our Pastor reminded us that, "The only wrong prayer, is NO prayer."
I’ve suffered unspeakable trials in my youth, and yet God, in His great mercy saved me from doubts and hopelessness during my college years. Even in my present struggles, during sometimes sleepless nights and teary days, I trust I have a Heavenly Father, so very unlike my earthly father was, who comforts me.
The 4 major points from this message:
1. God's creation groans because of the curse of sin. Not because he wants to see us suffer, but because the entire earth is waiting for the revelation of a new heavens and a new earth one day!
If we know that God’s creation groans because of the original curse of sin in Genesis 3, then we are not surprised at the depravity in this world today.
2. God's children groan while waiting for that final redemption. We must have hope while we wait as His adopted family. We can have hope!
If we understand that we must groan in anticipation and longing for the final redemption day, the day when all people are delivered from the bondage on earth, we will find hope.
3. God's Holy Spirit groans for us before the Father! In our weakness and uncertainty, He holds us up and prays for us! How powerful.
If we believe in God’s Word and the truth of the Scriptures, we cannot doubt His Holy Spirit has groaned long before us, interceding and pleading for our souls.
4. God's plan is good for all of us. So I don't have to be discourage and frustrated.
And if we know God’s grand plan is for our good, not for evil, we can rise above the frustrations of the world and it’s sinfulness.
Jesus Christ is the hope that endures! Hallelujah!
God has adopted me into His family and calls me His own child. And I am His. Forever.
I am loved, saved, privileged, liberated, emancipated, and comforted.
